• Has 2 Plastic beads ( Blue or Red ) with a Cross bead in center
• These Rosaries asre used by Eastern Orthodox Christians and Eastern Rite Catholics to count the number of times they have prayed the Jesus Prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner." Historically it typically had 100 knots, although prayer ropes with 50 or 33 knots can also be found in use today.
• Its invention is attributed to Saint Pachomius in the fourth century as an aid for illiterate monks to accomplish a consistent number of prayers and prostrations. Monks were often expected to carry a prayer rope almost constantly, to remind them to pray constantly in accordance with Saint Paul's injunction in I Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."

Having a small wrist, the traditional wool chotki prayer rope would always slip off my hand. So I was so happy to find a "flexible" wool chotki! Not only does the bracelet fit perfectly, but knowing that my purchase is helping to support Christian families living in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and their suburbs who made the prayer ropes, makes my purchase a double blessing! I am blessed by having the chotki and by the knowledge that my purchase is supporting Christian witness in the Holy Land!

This wool Chotki is beautiful, and very well made. It has just enough stretch in it to slide over my rather large hand, and still fit my 8 1/2" wrist nicely. I also ordered the stretch Olive Wood Chotki, and it is also very well made. It has plenty of stretch in it to easily slide over my hand, but I wish it was a little larger in size as it is a little small for my wrist...but I'm still glad I bought them both!

It was great until I got it wet. It stretched so much that I now wear it wrapped around my wrist twice.

Thank you Holylandmarket for a great chotki. It fits very well and looks great on my hand. I am just careful not to forget it and take shower in it by mistake. So far it is lasting good and helps me in my prayers.
